Education and Engagement
The future of Western Australia’s biodiversity will depend on informed, evidence based stewardship and a long term commitment to habitat protection.
Carnaby’s Crusaders delivers education and engagement programs designed to build understanding of the ecological drivers behind Black Cockatoo decline, including habitat loss, fragmentation and reduced breeding capacity. We aim to equip the next generation with the knowledge and responsibility required to protect and restore critical habitat.
We engage with schools, community groups, corporate partners and organisations seeking to understand the science, policy and conservation frameworks shaping species recovery in Western Australia.
Our work is grounded in continuous learning and collaboration. We work alongside researchers, wildlife carers and conservation practitioners, contributing to field observations, breeding site monitoring and habitat assessments. Data collection and site monitoring inform our understanding of species behaviour and habitat use, supporting practical conservation action aligned with recovery objectives.
Education is not simply awareness raising. It is about fostering long term ecological responsibility and expanding the community’s role in protecting and restoring nature.
